Create Storage in a Kitchen

There never seems to be enough storage in a kitchen. There are ways to add extra storage. I easiest way is to add an additional piece of furniture. We all do not have room or the money to purchase a piece of furniture. Lets get creative.

Making a storage unit for plates and saucers can be simple. It only has to be a 1/4 on the outer edges. Then you can place dowels or 1x1 boards about every 8" apart and 1/2 for the dishes to sit, attach them. Once it is painted the color of the kitchen you can place the dishes into the unit. This will show off your beautiful dishes and give you more space in the cupboard for things you don't want to look at.

Another way is to place shelves beside a window or in between cabinets. Any empty space in the kitchen that you can fit a shelf. You can then place cups, bowls, vases, or baskets to fill. These spaces can be painted to match or accent the kitchen. It makes it so much fun to all little things to change the kitchen.

If you have shelves or cabinets that do not have doors, you can place baskets, metal cans, painted boxes, or any things that is pretty full of stuff in this space. Being able to find space for stuff like jello boxes, bags of pasta, or any things that does not have a suitable size is great for these. It helps to organize the cabinets and make the kitchen look wonderful.
