It appears as the "Dog Days" of Summer roll in so does the new rage that`s sweeping the nation when it comes to sellers!
It`s called "The Blame Game".
Here`s how it works.
The Sellers call up venting,they want to blame you for everything! I`m sure many of you know this game and have been playing it for several months!
The "Blame Game" is a great way for a seller to take it out on you their Realtor, why not?! Didn`t you tell them "what price" to list their home? Wasn`t it you who "Promised" that buyers would appear?Or my favorite " You assured me that my home would sell at XXXX price"...
Many sellers have decided it`s much easier to call the Realtor "Yelling and Screaming". Many times they fail to remember that the market is indeed slow, and that sometimes no matter what we as Realtors do, we can`t sell a home in a matter or days or weeks!
This week I`ve received two "Blame Game" callers!
The first called me to ask why there haven`t been any showing for the last 5 days! The listing is all but 3 weeks old and we`ve had a great response so far! The home needs some work inside and out, and the seller "Promised" me that those issues would be resolved! As of yesterday they were still in limbo! Funny, I`m saying to myself! This was supposed to be taken care of,I`ve done my end,by getting clients into the home, yet when it comes down to fixing certain items that would make the home look better,it`s easy to forget and call the Realtor and play "The Blame Game"...
Caller #2 is even more logical!
Our Seller is really upset! They refuse to believe that prices have dropped within the last 90 days,even after i sent the "Active Properties" in their neighborhood.
The competition is becoming very agressive.
One seller dropped their price $35,000 the other $28,000. Both are the exact model as our home,except one has a pool.
Drum Roll Please.
The sellers response was utterly amazing! "YOU PROMISED ME THAT OUR HOME WOULD SELL FOR &*****, WE ONLY WANT THAT PRICE,GO OUT AND FIND US A BUYER,WHO UNDERSTANDS HOW BEAUTIFUL OUR HOME IS OR YOU~RE FIRED"....
I kid you not!
I mine as well stand out on the corner of this home and use a Club to strike people over the heads so that I can bring them a buyer. I keep thinking the Geico Caveman!
I`m positive many Realtors are "PLAYING THE BLAME GAME' as well!Good Luck!
